The Blood of Dawnwalker’s massive 1.1 update is on the way next week, packing dozens of quality-of-life improvements, hundreds of bug fixes, and two features fans have been asking for nonstop: a way to reset your character build, and the ability to pet dogs and cats.

For many RPG players, poor skill choices can ruin hours of progress. This patch introduces the Draught of Mind Rebirth, a respec potion that wipes all your Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism upgrades. You can redistribute every point from scratch, undoing bad decisions and experimenting with totally different playstyles without starting a brand-new playthrough. In short, you can erase your biggest build mistakes.

But the most charming addition has to be the directional animal petting system. The game’s signature directional combat controls are repurposed so you can pet dogs and cats. It’s a quirky, creative twist that fits the unique combat design of The Blood of Dawnwalker. After countless tough fights, you’ll finally be able to stop and give the local good boys some love.

Update 1.1 brings much more than respecs and petting. Rebel Wolves is adding a new, gentler Story difficulty setting with combat assists, expanded subtitle customization, frame generation settings, and over 1,100 bug fixes and tweaks across the game. It’s one of the biggest post-launch patches since the dark fantasy RPG released.

For players who felt locked into their character builds or wanted more casual story-focused gameplay, this update is a game-changer. Even if you’re already deep into your playthrough, the respec potion alone gives a reason to revisit your vampire hunter build. And let’s be honest — being able to pet the dog is the real highlight for many fans.

The patch arrives next week for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No word yet on any extra content beyond these fixes and quality-of-life features, but this update is already looking like a huge win for the community.
